Fundamentals of Working with People Who Use Substances: This is a full-day workshop, with the first half focusing on the Basics of Working with Individuals Who Use Substances and the second half being Approaches to Challenges in Programs for People Who Use Substances. This workshop will be facilitated by Robin Griller and Samantha Greer both of whom have extensive experience in the field working with individuals who struggle with substance use.

 

Presenter Profile

Robin Griller is the Executive Director of St. Michael's Homes. Robin has run services for people with substance use and mental health across a range of out-patient, residential, community and primary care settings. Robin was the founding manager of the Toronto Community Addiction Team, as well as providing leadership in a variety of health system collaborative partnerships including leadership roles in two Ontario Health Teams.

Samantha Greer is a Registered Social Service Worker and has been the Team Lead at St. Michael's Homes for the past 9 years, and a case coordinator before that. She works directly with clients and supervises staff and students from a variety of different postgraduate programs. Samantha's educational background is in Addictions and Mental Health Counselling, and Exceptionality in Human Learning.
