Things it might be helpful to know about this program:
- Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) is a form of therapy that aims to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others.
- The service is open to all Reconnect clients that have a case manager. Your case manager would provide an internal referral for you.
- DBT is a yearlong program. Each individual in the program attends a weekly, 2-hour DBT group and will be assigned a one-to-one coach who they will meet with weekly.
- DBT offers an introductory group for participants who are either waiting for the one-year program or trying to decide if this service is the right fit for them.
Once in service you can expect the following:
- Your status and progress will be documented.
- You will be asked to agree not to miss four consecutive sessions either with your one-to-one DBT coach or four consecutive DBT group sessions.
- Your coach and the DBT group facilitators will be available to you for problem solving.
