Behavioural Therapy
Things it might be helpful to know about this program:
- Behavioural Therapy works with people to identify and change behaviours that can be problematic in achieving a safe life and encourages those that will help them meet their everyday needs. A Behavioural therapist will work with a person to help find ways to understand and change behaviours that are getting in the way of achieving a better quality of life.
- This service is available to all Reconnect clients.
Once in service you can expect the following:
- The Behavioural Therapist will conduct an assessment with you based on what happens before the behaviour occurs, to try to understand why it is happening.
- The Behavioural Therapist will meet with you in your setting (e.g. home or in the community).
- The Behavioural Therapist will offer practical suggestions and strategies on how to decrease or get rid of the behaviour.
- You will meet with the Behavioural Therapist either alone or with your Case Manager.
- Your status and progress will be documented.
